Henry Hartshorne (1823-1897) was an American physician, writer, and poet; born in Philadelphia, March 16, 1823; died at Tokyo, Feb. 10, 1897. He was professor in the University of Pennsylvania, Haverford College, and the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania. Besides valuable medical works, he wrote 'Woman's Witchcraft, ' a dramatic romance, and 'Summer Songs' (1865), a volume of verse.
